Let's get to the Hacking...
How does the "Disable Dir Listing in Root Folder" work?

The server will follow a special pattern to see if it should disable Directory Listing in the top root of the server, if it doesn't find a Default Index file within the root of the server, it will output an error to the client with a status code of 403. All other folders will display a directory listing.

I'm interested, how do I disable Directory Listing in the root folder?

Open your Abyss Web Server console and click on the Host you wish to configure. Go to "Directory Listing." Click Edit... under Scope, and add the following settings under Deny For:

Virtual Path: ?

After you copy the following settings, click OK and restart Abyss Web Server. Well, I hope you enjoyed this wonderful tutorial. C ya!

Note: The pattern ? means zero or one. So when we use / as our path, the pattern becomes true and disables Directory Listing in the root of the server. If we add any more characters to the path, the pattern becomes false. That's how the hack works.

Here's an example of a matched pattern.

Example:
http://www.your-site.com/ (Matches because it contains one forward slash)
